Students

This page offers resources for undergraduate students. The Senate has primary authority over all educational matters, including curriculum, student academic policies, admissions, and retention/graduate requirements. Information can be found on student petitions, Policies and Rules for Undergraduate Students, and the University Undergraduate Advising Handbook. Information on Faculty Senate Scholarships and the John W. White Graduate Fellowships is also housed here.

Awards and Scholarships

Each year the Office of Student Aid facilitates for the Faculty Senate the awarding of University Scholarships that have been designated as Faculty Senate Scholarships. Funds for these scholarships are generated from endowments. Most all of the scholarships require both financial need and merit for consideration. The scholarships are awarded to students who have reached at least the second year of enrollment at Penn State.

Student Petitions

When students have not followed a policy listed in the Policies and Rules for Undergraduate Students and believe an exception to the policy may be warranted, they may submit a petition to the Senate Committee on Education’s Subcommittee on Undergraduate Petition Review for consideration.

Policies and Rules for Undergraduate Students

These policies and rules are meant to be a guide for undergraduate students  and faculty of The Pennsylvania State University.
